First, log in to your e-course with your username and password. You may access the login site via the www.e-learnpolish.com website (by clicking the word PLATFORM in the top menu of the page) or directly, by typing http://e-learnpolish.com/lms in your browser’s address bar. The login page looks like this:

After you log in, you will see the starting page of your profile, which looks like this:

The icon in the upper left corner of the page shows your username and profle picture; by clicking it, you may access your profile options (“Personal info” section).
The “search” bar below the icon allows you to search through lesson titles and messages on the forum (more about the forum later).
The menu on the left includes the following tabs:
- Lessons
- Tools
- Lessons menu
- Chat
- Log out.
“My Lessons” section in the “Lessons” tab is the default screen which you see automatically after logging in. It displays all course categories (e.g. Język Polski – Polish Language), course names (e.g. B1) and lesson titles included in the course you have access to.
“Tools” includes the following sub-categories:
- Personal info
- Calendar
- Reports
- Forums
- Messages
- Translate
The “Personal info” section allows you to edit your profile information, such as your password, e-mail address, profile picture or the language in which you want the platform to be displayed (in the “User settings” tab). You can also have a look at your courses by clicking the “Attending” tab. The “Mapped accounts” tab allows users who have more than just one account access and monitor other accounts without logging out (useful e.g. for supervisors in the case of company courses). The “Personal info” section looks like this:

The “Calendar” section allows you to organize your working schedule. You may write down important tasks and “to do” items, and the calendar will remind you about them.
The “Reports” section displays your progress with the course and particular lessons and provides you with information regarding your activity on the platform. You may export your reports to PDF or MS Excel files.
The “Forums” section allows you to read posts and participate in discussions taking place on the platform message board. You may discuss each lesson within your e-course with fellow students and teachers at any time. Sometimes using the forum may be the easiest and fastest way to solve technical problems or obtain feedback on your lessons. The forum for e-course users looks like this:

The “Messages” section allows you to send and receive personal messages to and from other platform users, teachers or platform administrators. Similarly to the forum, it is an easy and fast way of communication between platform users.
The “Translate” section is very helpful to learners at all stages. It provides you with an electronic translator operating in over 50 languages! You can translate words, phrases, sentences or even whole paragraphs from your language to Polish / from Polish to your language, as well as in other language combinations. It succesfully replaces a traditional dictionary. The translator looks like this:

The “Lessons menu” tab allows you to access directly all lessons within your course. It is very similar to the “Lessons” tab, but it doesn’t display general information such as course category and course name.
The “Chat” tab allows you to participate in an online discussion whithout the necessity of exiting your e-course. You may join the discussion in one of available chat rooms, create a new chat room or invite other users to join the conversation. The chat always opens in the menu on the left, so you can run a conversation and take a lesson simultaneously. A chat room looks like this:

The “Log out” tab allows you to log out of your e-learning platform profile. Remember to log out every time you finish using the platform.
THE COURSE
Now, when you know how to move around the e-learning platform, let’s see how to take lessons within an e-course. First, select the first lesson you want to participate in from the “My lessons” section in the “Lessons” tab or directly from the “Lessons menu” tab. You will see the main page of the lesson, which looks like this:

To start taking the lesson, click on the green “Play” button on top of the page (directly following the title of the lesson), or choose the “Theory” section in the menu on the left and then select the title of the lesson.
Options in the left menu also include “Forum” (which redirects you to the forum thread devoted specifically to this lesson) and “Glossary” (which opens your glossary for this lesson. You can create a glossary during the lesson – more on that later), as well as “Change lesson”, which sends you back to the “My lessons” lesson menu.
After clicking “Play” or the title of the lesson, you enter the lesson and see the first lesson page. Lesson pages include many functional elements which make your e-learning process interactive. A lesson page looks like this:

The first screen of each lesson is the lesson's "cover", or introduction to this lesson's topic area. All following screens are proper teaching materials.
The bar in the upper left corner displays instructions for the current lesson page, e.g. “Read the following text” or “Fill in the gaps”. You can hide this bar by clicking the “x” sing at its right-hand end, and re-open it any time by clicking the “i” sign that will be displayed in the upper left corner.
The bar in the upper right corner shows how much time have you spent on this lesson so far.
The bar at the bottom of the page includes the following items:
- the mouth icon in the lower left corner – it redirects you to the pronunciation section, where you cantype in any words or sentences in Polish and hear an electronic Polish speaker read them out loud.
- informacje (information) – it provides you with all necessary grammar information for this lesson.
- reset – resets the page to its beginning, allowing you to hear the speaker again, clear the fields you have marked during an exercise or display a text again.
- słownik (glossary )– opens a Polish-to-English glossary of words and phrases uses during this lesson.
- sprawdź odpowiedź (check your answers) – this is only active on the exercise pages. It checks your answers and shows which of them are correct. In order to avoid cheating and motivate the student, it is only possible to check answers three times per exercise.
- poprzednia (previous) – redirects you to the previous lesson page.
- number (e.g. 1/15) – indicates which lesson page you are at currently and how many lesson pages are within this lesson.
- następna (next) – redirects you to the next lesson page.
Each lesson page also features an oblong button located on the righ-hand margin of the lesson screen. When you click it, a list of lesson pages and several other options unscrolls. You can always scroll it back by clicking the “x” sign in its upper right corner. An unscrolled lesson menu looks like this:

The list allows you to navigate freely and quickly around the lesson pages. When you click on any of the lesson pages on the list, you are redirected to this lesson page immediately. The bar at the bottom of the menu, below the list, includes the following items:
- the note icon – when clicked, it marks those lessons in the menu which feature listening exercises.
- the book icon – when clicked, it marks those lessons in the menu which feature reading exercises.
- the “Z” letter icon – when clicked, it marks those lessons in the menu which feature grammar exercises.
- the pencil icon – when clicked, it marks those lessons in the menu which feature writing exercises.
- the speech bubble icon – when clicked, it marks those lessons in the menu which feature speaking exercises.
When you get to the final lesson page and have completed all exercises within the lesson it means that you have completed this lesson. It will be reflected by the lesson progress bar in the upper right corner of the page and in the “Reports” section of the platform.
That’s it! The above information is all you need to know to move around the e-learning platform and your e-course freely and put all of its options to their best use. Enjoy your e-course!
